ROWENA PEARCE
A lifelong artist, Rowena Pearce is actually mother to Charlie Burrell, the owner of Knepp. Rowena makes wonderful
mixed media pieces, which are inspired by her love of nature and a deep connection to the landscape,
especially that of Knepp and her home in Somerset.
For the pieces exhibited here, Rowena takes a microscope to recovering soil, focusing in on the bustling myriad of
lifeforms found both above and below the ground. This includes the mycorrhizal network, earthworms, moths and dung
beetles. Rowena also looks at the ever-changing landscape, in this case the role silver birches play as primary colonisers.
Rowena now lives in Somerset where she has been a big part in the community at Shave Farm,
which has offered a creative haven for many artists over the years.
All work is available to buy - please call James Ort on 07765980508 to enquire
